powermax starter - how to use it?

Hi,
How should we use the starters, any guide for them? Should I start to turn it before applying to the spinner or after touching the spinner. Should I apply it hardly or softly
Lastly I'm using a LIPO 11.1 volt 20c 3 cell battery for that starter, is that enough?
Yesterday when I try to start the motor with that starter so much vibration occured and the starter kicked back several times.Maybe it happened because of I start to turn it before applying to the spinner. as a result of these vibration screws got loosen and my receiver pack splicer is loosen also.
What is your suggestions ?

I power mine with a 7.5Ah SLA battery. I start the starter and then shove it onto the spinner. Just be sure the prop is not at the beginning of the compression stroke (turn it CW).

No bounce, No play.

I have had both good and bad luck with either method.

Trick is to keep starter parallel with "center-line" of spinner. Stick it on an angle and it will probably wobble.

Like Jack said, turn CW, then put starter on so it has a chance to get the motor spinning before it hits compression.

The battery is similar to what I have attached to my starter, works a treat.
