Nose Gear Door


Joe Mine will have a nose gear door on the plane. I do believe that the picture shows a gear door. I think that your correct. Mine will just close up when the gear come up.

Hi all, of course it has (2) a nose gear door, and it closes as the gear comes up. As seen on the pics and read in the instruction gregg has only in german, but is translated into english at the meantime...just finished...
hey, I'm having a break next week, skiing, ha! 2ft of fresh snow!, sorry but I need it, first holiday in two years! afterwards the first 3 kits will be shipped, Gordon, Doc and Jim. the follow ups about two weeks later, late Feb.

Gregg. Did you say the side-hinged noseleg door has its own servo? If it does, how will you sequence it with the noseleg?

nosegear door ops


FYI: The rear nosegear door is hinged sideways, and is operated by a microservo which is paralleled to the retract valve servo and switched trough a microswitch, which closes the + line of the door servo when the nose strut is UP and locked. THEN the door servo closes the door.
If you select gear DN the microswitch is still closed as the air pressure needs some moments to deplete through the valve and and additional throttle, but the servo is quicker and has already opened the door when the gear comes DN.
In turn this means that the rear door stays open when the gear is down, as the front door does which is linked mechanically to the strut and acts as an airbrake, too. To secure positive lock DN there is an additional downlock spring linked to the gear mechanics externally.

Supplied in the kit for this are: door hinges (standard for the rear door, custom made for the front) door bolts, screws for fixing servos, steering wires and squeezing rings. Manual and pics.

Sorry Gregg but I will have to copy your motor, ESC and battery arrangement for my Bandito. I just need to wait for the 2600's to come back into stock and then I will be set. Oh there is the one little thing I forgot? I need to build the plane first, oh well I will be behind ya Gregg. Keep those pictures coming.

FWIW .. I would use the Sullivan Skylite wheels they are the lights/ hardest wheels out there .. I use them on all my larger planes,they work.will hold up
the plane will need it 6 pounds ...

Gregg I'm charging 20 2400's for my hacker 16l which is going in my F-18.

that is the power package I plant to transplant into the Bandito after I save some money after Florida jets.

Love to hear how it performs on the El.

I'm at 6.8 pounds weight in mine !!!

I should have thrust readings shortly. thanks for this thread, nice work gregg. I'm with uncljoe i use the Skylite on all my big edfs, i think it helps reduce galloping also.
