Flashback II Build Question
The instructions for the turtledeck say to cover the fuselage from F4 to the rear with the 1/32 balsa.
When you mount the vertical stabilizer do you just sand a flat on the turtledeck or make a cutout to glue it to the rear stringer?? Ed |

I just mounted it right on to the turtledeck. I did not make a cutout down to the stringer.
I assume you have covered both the rudder and fuse already. If not, you may want to consider doing so before you glue the rudder on. It is easier to cover these parts separatley than when together. |

Just my 2 cents. I think I would put three tyvek hindges instead of two for the rudder. Just beef it up a bit to handle the load place on it by the tail wheel. Oh ya, if you forget to put the tail wheel in before you ca the rudder in place, ask me how to mod.

4 votes. Use thick CA.
You don't need 3 hinges. At the bottom you capture the tailwheel wire with a 1" length of 1/32" music wire folded in half and shoved into the back of the fuse. Follow with a drop of thin CA, taking care to not glue the two wires together. Doug |
