Thanks Steve, I'll look at the motor box in next couple days.
Yes I need down elevator whilst inverted.

A little is maybe not a bad thing depending on your preference but I'd try moving the battery back a bit. I've got mine trimmed for 'hands off' inverted and with the CG set that way the thrust line is perfect.

If you do prefer a more nose heavy trim then a little downthrust may be in order.

So since the talk of the motorbox has come up I thought let me give it a once over, since the screws on the X-mount has come loose a little again,I've been meaning to put some blue locktite on.Put a few extra bracings on with some sucker sticks just for that little extra rigidity
And gave the Slickeroooo my signature trademark

My first blog post is relevant to this thread. Anybody got a spare SK3548 X mount?

I actually need a bit too much down to hold level flight inverted, so I'll mess with the CG first, prefer not to go down the messing around with thrust thing

Yes it is relevant, and very lucky...

Here's what I ended up with, went overboard with the epoxy but don't want another incident... I got rid of all my Heli's ages ago but the old bits n pieces still come in handy, the CF plate is cut from a busted Trex 450SE frameset and the cross supports from 250SE boom supports Much, much stiffer now....

Blown Motor Box, 2nd Time

Just when the HK Slick was flying just perfect, the motor box blew apart for the second time. It was my third flight of the day and I had been doing, snap rolls, KE spins etc. There was nothing left of the motor box. The cowling took a severe beating when the motor box came apart, not to mention the nose dive from approx. 30ft.
With no way to attempt a motor box repair, I installed one of the adjustable light weight aluminum motor mounts from Value hobby.
SKU: XYH-AC-1461 $9.99
The cowling is another story; I basically pieced it back together, using fiberglass ,epoxy, filler, and even a little window screen. It didn't look very good after I painted it so, I added some black and red strips of Ultracote. Still doesn't look good up close so, don't enlarge picture.lol I had to move the Gens ace 2700 4s battery aft about 1/12" to achieve proper CG. I'll fly it low, just not too close. I'll report back on how it flies after the weather clears.

If it won't fly 3D

If it won't fly 3D I'll have to assemble the spare orange HK slick.

Hated to ask Bill Blacker to repair the cowling again. It was really tore up bad. And yeah, sometimes I think I'm a complete dumb ass.

I would be happy to fix it. Just drop it off and I will get it looking good again. I almost would like to try making a vacu form of the parts. Anyone out there know if its possible?
