HK Sbach 342 1400mm Balsa

This plane is in the 3d section but find it more of a sport aerobatic model. Flys very similar to the Eflite Extra300 but better in the speed department. I just got mine a week ago and am running a eflite power46 in it with 100amp CC Esc on 5s. Had to mod motor box to make it fit and I ran 2 servos to the elevator because of concerns that I read about of the tail. It seems flimsy with the joiner they give to run just one. I also put a sullivan S860 tail wheel assembly on it and have now ordered a 2.25 diameter x 3.25 length spinner which is meant for the big Cessna Topflite 182. Yes i made exhaust for it. Got bored one evening, lol.

Flight #4 on this baby today. Man it fly's awesome. My landing strip is a frozen gravel road and temps hovering around the freezing mark and it's holding up perfect.

Congratulations gewiens, the spinner look very cool !

Does the sbach come with a spinner or not ?
I've ordered mine from a local shop, because on HK it is in backorder, can't wait to fly it !

Mine will have the power setup suggested by hk shop :
- Turnigy G60 Brushless Outrunner 400kv (.60 Glow)
- Turnigy K-Force 70A-HV OPTO Brushless ESC
- Turnigy nano-tech 3300mah 6S 25~50C Lipo Pack
- TCF 16X8 High Precision Carbon Fiber Sport Propeller

I'm still unsecure about the servo's choice, i'm searching for a digital servo, metal gear or carbon gear, but first i wait until i receive the airframe to measure the servo slots.

Thanks Dave. I really think you might run into a problem with those servos. Not sure if there will be enough meat left once you get them in. The hitec 225's fit perfect just for a reference.

Hi gewiens ! i have received my sbach 342, what a great plane !!

I don't know if it is a different version of your, but mine comes with a tailwheel with carbon fibre support, and the cut-outs for the servos are 41 x 21mm , so the Hitec 225bb for me doesn't work because it is 32.4 x 16.8mm.

I plan to use bigger servo's, two for the elevator and one for the rudder.

The landing gear is black painted aluminium.

Mine had that tail wheel also. I'm gonna double check my servo hole sizes this evening now that you say that. Was building 2 plane at the time and might have posted something wrong but pretty sure it was right.

Yes the 1400mm balsa, made by flight-models.

This afternoon i post pics. I have also a question about 4 strange white plastic "things" that i don't know what they are and where to put them...

Those white things are locks for your servo extensions so they don't disconnect. Plug extensions in and clip them on.
