Which 72 MHZ radio to use?

I am starting in fpv and I want to use the radios I have. which will do the best job? (I want to used 72MHZ). Futaba 9Z PCM or FM OR JR 10SX PCM or FM. I am going to be using 1.3 GHZ for video. I am not ready to go 433. I have a spextrim 2.4 Module for the Futaba and JR. if this is better? thanks for any info.. Doug Parker

I'd go with the futaba fm as you can upgrade to 433 later. I don't know enough about the JR to comment.

I would recommend the 8FG or 9C, 10C from Futaba

freakin good deal, bid up to $100-120 on it because that PCM rx is good. if you find one that comes with R127DF don't pay over $90 shipped for the package

Any 72MHz radio will do. The secret is RX sensitivity. RX has nothing to do with the TX. I like the Corona RP8D1. Good for 2 miles easily.

i like PCM, cause you get a failsafe, but you don't get any glitches.

thus, if you are flying *hands off* you can fly right out of control range without knowing.

on a quad tho, it's highly unlikely.

if it were me the 9Z.

PCM if you can RSSI mod the rx.
PPM/FM if you are not running RSSI.

yeah someone wanted it really bad lol

sometimes if I get outbid really bad i'll get mad and troll the sale and bid super high, then retract before 12 hours is out.

in this case i did not bid on the item. i'm bidding on a receiver at the moment but i wont post a link because i want it for cheap

5.1 miles on the Corona. I couldn't be happier with it, especially for $20. Servo centering is poor, though.

In any case range is in the RX, not the TX. I might have to try the R127DF. Right now I'm dabbling with 50MHz systems.
