Just curious - what was their asking price ---if you asked? We have a local store here in town that caters to maritime decorations, and they have had on several occasions, radio control boats, for which they were asking about $200 more than normal going cost. Almost thought about building and selling on consignment as a source of "Christmas Income". They didn't seem to last very long in the store - selling in a few weeks. I think the store also caters to restaurants for interior decor.

I don't think that there's any sense in talking money if you don't actually have an intent to purchase. And, since I wasn't going home with the boat, even if they offered it to me, I didn't bother to ask.

Surely they would have wanted a figure in the thousands, or even couple of thousands. But, then again they didn't even know what the Marblehead class is.
After looking at this one, If someone planned to race it actively they would have lost-out on the deal if they paid a hundred bucks.

If it was a great-condition true Marblehead of the Vintage Variety, ready to sail with the proper equipment and rig..... surely it would be worth at-least a grand.

No results published yet but from the french forum the podium is

Brad Gibson, Graham Bantock, Martin Roberts

Three world champions on good form, so not a surprise.

Local heroes Yannick Rossignol and Marc Pomarede 5 and 6 following an unnamed german.

We might hope for better visibility of a world championship?

An other slide show: https://plus.google.com/photos/10037...CMD04uvt-e3DNQ, where you can see that the sky is blue above the clouds in Britanny , and that there are no vintage boats.

Nice stuff indeed.
Just curious as why Jeff B is not doing well? His boat is based off the IOM Chienz, much like Brad G is based off the BritPop. Any info?
