Just got back from a 5 hr indoor fly-in here in NVA tons of fun. the Dr-I flew great I have the PZ P-51 in mine so it's pretty quiet. I also added the minor LG rigging and middle wing rigging.
Not done yet but getting there. Waiting for Jin to do a gun kit and I need to do some Kempf decals since I goofed up in my haste to paint and forgot to mask for them  Next build another Nieuport, a 17bis of the RNAS No. 6 Squadron C Flight Cdr. Ernest W. Norton's N3208I like the 17's wing and tail shape better than the 25-27 and I like the Lewis and Vickers guns they used. A good suggestion at the Fly-In for the top wing Lewis gun was to use micro magnets to hold it on that way it might not get damaged if it's whacked it or bumped. Pete |

Thanks Billy, Gene's been letting me know what your up to. John in my haste to get this thing ready for the Fly-In I goofed up and forgot to mask the top and middle wing for the Kempf scheme.  Now I have to make white decals (white decal paper is a pain, never really works right for me)Pete |

Thanks, Pete. By the way, those aren't decals, they're hand cut from sign vinyl. Except for the wing crosses, which are printed on paper, then cut out and attached with spray adhesive. I liked using inkjet decal sheets, but the last few sets I've bought have been terrible, so I went with the vinyl.

Not a DR1 mod per se, but I like flying with the guys in formations of DR1's indoors so much I decided we need something to escort.
To scale - 4' wingspan. Can you guess what it is? |
