Glad to be here...

Made about 10 flights, at two different fields, with the Apprentice and the Albatross. With the Apprentice, at Bristol Field, I was practicing inverted. I had one flight where about 60% of my 10 minutes was inverted. Sweet!

At Ga Mtn RC feild, I was by myself, so I practiced approaches with both planes and did some touch and goes with the Apprentice.

Destroyed the one in my avatar.

Aileron servo failure was the cause, but it's still completely my fault because I decided to fly with an iffy servo.

I don't have any more of that cream-colored covering, so I'll have to buy a roll to repair it. For just a few bucks more I could make a whole new airframe, so methinks I'll just do that rather than piece the confetti back together.

Hrrm.

That sucks, I always thought that was a really neat plane. Might build a similar one for myself eventually, but I have enough projects to keep me occupied for a while...Beechcraft, t-28, extra 300, quadcopter junk, four star, cleaning my workbench, and lastly (and certainly least) school on tuesday...
Yeah, It's on my looonng list lol

Flew a couple batteries through the Cub, mostly pattern/scale stuff. Once I get a spar installed and a rubber band wing retention system, I'll get more aggressive.

Set up my eflite p40 for 3S, flew about 4 packs on 2S this morning and it was anemic compared to the new zero. Can't have that!

Flew (successfully) ailerons for the first time! Although I think training with ultra micros is difficult because they are so twitchy with any mention of wind.

the bonsai went out for 6 batteries' worth - and after a lot of mucking around with propellers, i decided the gws 5x4.3 is far and away the best prop for the 370mah 3s and 22-11 1700

details on my experimentation here and some other data and mishaps here

still the occasional esc "hiccup" on the 5x4.3, but almost a non-event after the other combinations

i also put the solitary 1300mah 2s through the slo-V that i resurrected after a long time in the hangar

flew the champ, and the bonsai, and the slo-V

1 battery apiece; the slo-V needs the wing further forward (done)

flew the umt28 today and ran 8 batteries through her. wind was a real pain. broke off a spinner and had to make a new one. not a big deal but annoying just the same.

replaced the orangeRx r410 in the slo-V with a "naked" orangeRx r610, because i realised i needed the smaller rx for the cuckoo if i was going to make it as light as possible
