ParkZone ICON A5 Problems

Sorry that my First post has to be a Downer but I feel that i must inform people about my experiance with the New ICON A5 from ParkZone.

Ill cut right to the chase. The Plane has some serious "Tail Wag" Its like the Tail boom is not strong enough or their are some serious design flaws in the Tail section causing it to Yaw (side to side) Its like some one is doing rudder im-put
as you decend and turn.

Example your turning and decending comming in for a landing its VERY odvious
the plane is wagging side to side 5 to 7 inches back and forth. I called Horizon as soon as I got the plane. They said Humm Never heard of this??? The plane was New Just came out so I figured they needed a few more weeks of the plane being out to the public. I met a guy at the hobby shop where I bought my'n. His has the exact same problem.

Fast forward. I called them today. This time they say they know about it and its no big deal and that the real plane does the same thing. Prop wash!

They are offerning no Fix or Refund.

This has been covered in the threads in ParkFlyers and Waterplanes.

If you fly conservatively and don't hop it up a bunch I think it's manageable. And he's right, the full scale is having the exact same problem. So is the HobbyKing version.

It would be nice if it didn't do it. But it is pretty well documented at this point.

It's a bit of a short-coupled plane... not really a big deal.

Mine cracked right behind the rudder pushrod guide. I just open up the crack & put epoxy in best i could. Im going to epoxy mixing sticks or even carbon rods to the tail section to stiffin it up a bit.

I can attest to the fact that it does- in real life.
It's a little disconcerting, too.

If you check out the horizon Icon thread over in the water planes forum, some have cured the tail wiggle with a roll gyro and a yaw gyro.

My large NFD Icon and my very small 1m Icon from Hobby King both had a small amount of tail wiggle, in turbulence. Smooth flying on low rates keeps the wiggle to a minimum. Does not bother me.

Some scale aircraft have minor issues like this.... Just the nature of the beast and not a quality issue caused by horizon.

I can't lie that my PZ Thunderbolt wags, so I find it typical
