Any parkflyers in Queens, New York

Hey All,

How many parkflyers do we have in Queens, New York.

Where do you guys fly ?
How often do you fly. ?
What plane do you fly ?

I live in Jamaica, Queens and I fly in either Cunningham Park off of francis Lewis and Union turnpike or in Baisley Park.

I try to fly has often has possible but I haven't flown in almost 3 weeks :-(.

I have a GWS tigermoth that I fly.

I use to live in queens and I sometimes come back there to visit family on weekends. I fly at a park off francis lewis also but I am not sure if it by union tpke. It is the one right night to the clearview expressway, I think it is at exit 3.

Is the tiger moth the only one you have, In the winter it is too windy for the tiger moth so you might want to get something that can handle some wind, like the e-starter. I have flown my beaver there but it gets bounced around by the wind.

I live in Jamaica and used to hit Flushing Meadows really early during the weekdays...

Couldn't go on busy days cause the flight zone is restricted to control line planes...

Queens: brings back memories. I used to live on 74th street, where all the spicy food is sold. And used to fly my gliders on Long Island. Did graduate from Stony Brook a long time ago.
Bought my TM from Americas Hobby in Manhattan.
Central park should have a reserved area for Park Flyers???
Looking forward to visit the BiggApple again, and see the eflyers doing their thing!
Good luck until then...

Hey All

PC Pilot - I plan on getting another plane for the winter. I wasn't thinking about the e-starter but I will look into it.

Dujura - The neighborhood probably has changed a lot since you moved. I am not sure its for the better or for the worst. In my area of South Jamaica it is ever revolving and getting better in certain areas.

98 Snake Eater - Hey never seen much flying @ flushing meadows. I guess since the deck would be extremely low due to La Guardia being down the block. I also purchased my TM @ America Hobbies in Manhattan on 33rd & 8th.

Ed Khan - I take it you use to fly your gliders with the Long Island silent fliers. I went out there one time to view a competition. That is a big field.

Hey all keep them coming. Hopefully I will find some weekend fliers to join me.

I now live in yonkers and about 15 minutes from me is a very very large park (VanCortlandt Park) in the Bronx. It is about 7 blocks long and about the same wide, (Marathon races are held in the park). My beaver is barely visible before it reaches one end of the park. I use 8 channel receivers with the 1500ft range so I can fly far and high.
