Question on replacing a motor box.

A while back I put my 47'' extra into the ground doing low rolling harriers. All I broke was the motor box so I ordered up a new one and I have it. I have been to busy to do anything with it recent ally, however I am now ready to fix it. However I have no clue how to go about getting the old motor box off as I drenched it with thin CA while building it like the instructions said to do. I have a bottle of acetone, but do not know what to do in order to get these broken pieces off. Anyone have any tips?

You really don't want to do anything with it rectally

Not again. The spell check keeps turning that word to rectally. It happened to me the other day in another thread.

the debonder that stevet. recommenced works great (they sell in at tower), just soak it, go have a beer, soak it again, repeat and then start wigling, scraping and working the joints and it will start coming apart

Thanks, I am going to have to give spell check a look at and find out why it keeps turning recently to rectally this is becoming a bit annoying.

So do you think that stuff will work better than the Acetone I have?

How long should you let it sit for before trying to get the parts off?

It varies on how much adhesive there is... put it own let it set for a little bit then carefully wiggle it a bit to see if it is starting to move, if it does, carefully work the pieces apart, if not put a bit more debonder on and repeat....

This stuff is great. I did a build recently where I put thin CA on all the motor box joints right at the start, like I do for my 3DHS an EF plane builds. Come to find out the motor box is made to telescope out to get your motor to the cowl-didn't help that the manual was only in Japanese or Chinese. Anyways, the super solvent got the motor box loose again without having to break anything. Glad I read about it in RCG and decided to give it a try.
