Anyone know if a 47" Extra SHP V1 canopy and cowl will fit on a V2 fuse? Sent an email to 3DHS asking them but they ain't replying.

I looked at this on my new 87...no room to drill a hole unless I lose the collar. I recall some of the smaller plane collars having holes tapped for 2 grub screws, but only one supplied. I always rounded up another and used both.

And as with the last event in Shreveport, you never know who will show up, In addition to Rob, Josh and Jared, Ben shows up on Saturday. Nothing like asking the owner questions, having him fly your plane and telling you if it needs this or that.

Mark where the collar is.
Remove collar
Remove the wheel
Put collar back on.
Tighten collar
Center punch collar 90 deg from set screw
Put assembly in a vblock
Drill hole.
Remove collar
put wheel back on.
Put collar backon.
Tighten and secure with a pin.

what he said^.

you'll want to do this...at least in my experience, whenever I landed the 89 in a cross wind and the wheels didn't touch down perfectly in line with the velocity of the plane, I would lose a collar. and yes I flattened a spot on the axle.

My task for the evening. Thanks!

Also just posted this....since I'm building an 87 I have no real way to haul it(big Ford not an option). I built this for around $500 and it's light enough for my Cr-v I figure all loaded it'll be under 500#.

Hi guys, currently flying a 47" Velox and it's big Brother the 68" Velox. Looking to add either the 48" Super Vyper, or the 51" AJ Slick (I want something that can fly both 3d and pattern). Which would you suggest?

Wow, just saw that 3dhs has the 59" AJ Slick on sale for $229, less than the 51". Now there is another possiblility. The 48" Super Vyper is on sale for $140. Which would you go for as more of a precision airplane?
