On the DX6i, you can assign the dual rates to individual switches, or one common switch. I have mine on one switch for simplicity.

As for dual rate switches. I just picked a few switches and went with it. The funny thing is that my brother picked the same for his too. What were the odds of that I have my ailerons on.. my top right front switch, elevator on the front outer right side switch, rudder is on the switch next to the elevator. To answer your question I have no idea if there is a standard

Thanks. That's close to where I had mine, when I was told I was doing it wrong.

As long as it makes sense to you the person using it then it makes sense.
