3 odd days left in the funding process. Funding is at 82% and it sounds like it is a GO regardless of if it hits 100% or not. Jon appears to be hard at work with the prototype and has completed the 3 axis Drive system and will be working on the extruder over the next 2 days. He also mentioned that he is planning on using the Printrboard (if you haven't heard of the Printrbot, see here!) Which is a huge benefit because firmware and hardware mods to that platform can be directly applied to the Makibox platform (for instance printing from SD cards).

I simply cannot wait to get mine! I've already constructed a wide array of 3D models to print the instant I get this in April!

48 Hours left and fully funded

It's official, the project has successfully been funded and is sitting at 102% as we speak. Jon has also picked up his lathe and has started building the extruder head already. 2 more days to go until funding opportunity ends for getting one of these!

Final Day...

This is the final day to take advantage of this deal and fund the Makibox project. Heres the latest update from Jon on the extruder, it looks promising indeed.

Great to see your onboard with the project Tom, and by the looks of it there were quite a few people waiting it out with you till the last couple days as the final count for funding sits at around 210%

Any Ideas on what you'll print off first?

I was thinking of accessorizing my electric 50" rotor span Cobra helicopter with some nice scale like parts to enhance it's curb appeal just to get used to the ReplicatorG software and the machine.
I read that you have a number of items that your are ready to print; I am now in the "I can't wait for it to arrive" mode

Thats a pretty beastly sized helicopter u got. Can't wait to see what kind of scale stuff you can print off for it!

The first thing I'm going to print are door caps for my fridge, every one of them have cracked and I'm not spending $25 a piece for parts that are just going to break again! Then I'm going to try my hand at making a super small quadcopter frame.

It sounds like jon is hard at work sorting out the final kinks in the extruder/drive system. I can't wait to see the final prototype up and running.

xtasy,
you can still get the same price as what we paid but you will now have to wait for the regular production runs. Still a great deal IMO.

Good question SB, I think Jon of MakiBox answers all of the questions on his site. Try the FAQ on the website, it looks pretty good to me for an inexpensive 3D desktop printer.
