Hi Widelec

Both my friend and I ordered this osd, but we are both experiencing bad video quality - thick horizontal lines. I've tried it without any other equipment, still thick lines.

Can we send it back RMA?

Hi Widelec,

I would like to sent mine back, as well.
It did not warn me for incoming power lines !!!

FPV good luck (0 min 4 sec)

Otherwise, it works fine (V2).

There is a difference in the lines when supplying 2 cell vs 3 cell. Is there anything I can do?

When I only supply 5v to the main power input the noise is gone..

Are you all running 12v to the board??

I'm curious, should be wires between camera and OSD, OSD and TX be shielded?

Volts, Camera, UBECS? Etc..

does not have to be. And probably 95% of FPV set ups out there are not using shielded wiring.

However, shielding is a very good idea, and is growing in popularity for FPV. The most common method is to use shielded Cat-6 ethernet cable, and run all your A/V lines throught it, plus even use it for servo leads.

I ordered a bunch of Cat 6, and plan to use it, but haven't received my order yet.

Interesting, but can you explain exact usage? Cat6 has 8 wires, why do I need 8 shielded wires If I need only 2.... kinda waste of weight and wires?!

I received my replacement pretty quick, this one is a version 2.3, voltage is 0.2v out (better than 0.6v n the last one) and everything seems to be working ok. will post a vid in a bit just uploading

you don't need all the twisted pairs necessarily, but might be able to use them anyways for making wire harnesses with the power, AV, servo lines all on the same cable, say, one going out to each wing. Can pull out the excess wires if you want, can also double-up power lines if the load/distance is greater. I do this on my ground station - double wired cat6 for Pos and Neg (runs to goggles, and receivers), then one wire for video, one for audio, so I am using 6 wires.

I also hear there is some nicely shielded USB cable that is a bit smaller with only 4 wires in it. The best Cat 6 has individual metal shields around each twisted pair, though I am going to use the basic single shield type.
