With the recommended throws the SHP does rolling harriers nice and slow. SOOO much slower than my 41'' buck huck was doing them, thats also just from it being larger. Profile foamies taught me rollers. Get a crack yak you'll learn real quick The way the throttle is worked is a little different but the stir is pretty much what you want to learn then you can do it on any plane.

The torque roll should be broken up in 4 main orientations in order to learn it. Canopy towards you, gear towards you and then wing tip towards you both directions.

If you learn to hover really well in all 4 orientations than the torque roll will be a piece of cake. The really tricky orientation is the gear towards yourself. One thing that helped me was remembering to push the rudder stick towards the low wing when the gear is towards you.

It takes a lot of practice.

Make sure you know you focus on the rudder, as it normally gives the most trouble for learning a torque rolls.

Maybe add some aileron to help with the roll, some airplanes do not need it as they have plenty of torque from the prop, while some need a little help. Sometimes finding the right speed of the torque roll is key. The slower the torque roll the more difficult and the faster the more difficult. Find a happy medium, not to fast not to slow.

Harriering directly at myself was a great help learning to hover belly in. Just keep increasing the angle of attack a little at a time. This is obviously after being comfortable flying and turning in the harrier attitude. The sim really did it for me and belly in hovering. I learned to hover belly before trying to torque roll as well. If you are practicing it with the epp slick be sure to stay at a safe distance away from yourself.

The same thing Wamsy and Joe said. Lots of practice. What helped me was different size planes. Foamies gave me the idea of what to do before applying it to the larger planes. Just let it go around!

Cool, the reason I asked is because learning to invert harrier away from yourself keeping it going straight will really help you with the gear towards you orientation.

I am just learning to torque roll as well... I can do it ok on the simulator now but it takes some work. I am definitely not as in control as I'd like to be but I'm getting there. For me the most challenging part was when the plane was in a belly in attitude. I don't know what Joe or anyone thinks about but as wamsy said the key is the rudder since it gives the most trouble. When the gear is facing me I push the tail the direction it needs to go and when the canopy is facing me I push the nose where it needs to go. So I alternate where I am focusing on the plane based on that. I am to the point now where I will do a little torque rolling with my 51" slick but I usually bail on it after a turn or two due to nerves.

I have both and I prefer the edge.

Are edges your favorite airframe or something? It seems you like the edge over the others in most sizes.
