So why weren't you flying the SHP as low as the helicopter?? Great pics!

Ouch, what a shame, I could see that the rudder locked up, and such a great plane, a friend has the exact same in red

It's funny because that's exactly what I was thinking coming out of that stall turn. But I quickly went from impressed to terrified about 0.5 seconds later.

Thanks for the condolences guys.

this is why a comprehensive insurance company should exist....ive pondered the idea ever since I got into the hobby....if the policy was written so that you were only allowed to claim ONE incident per year and the deductible was $250 or even $500, wouldnt it be worth it to have?....set the damage pay out limit to $5,000 (because most of the time the guts survive)....but in the case of the Sbach, $5,000 would have been paid out to replace the airframe because we all know the AMA doesnt give a sh*t

The Hillbilly Huckers RC Insurance Company.....good for all things RC

the ama?

idk dude, seems to me they've been working pretty hard to keep the policy makers off our backs.

the insurance idea is cool, but I don't think there are nearly enough modelers out there to make it practical. also there would be no way to separate the conscientious modelers who set up planes correctly from the yahoos. unless you wanted to have yearly plane inspections...that's a whole other can of worms!!

I had one KE pass where I think I was about as low as the heli pic, however no good pics from that one (yes, always blame the photographer...).

So this weekend, we went down to San Diego for the second EMAC of the year..

Fliprob borrowed my Vyper and won the Basic class. I won the Sportsman class with it.

So here's my question, wasn't there a little talk about a 50cc sized Vyper at one point? I love the 65", don't get me wrong..but a 80"- 85" would be... Wow..

Just throwen it out there..

the way that insurance works is that many pay in and the insurance company pays out as few claims as it can. typically i cant imagine more than 5-10% of people insured by a company actually make a claim each year. otherwise the company would go bankrupt. im sure the average claim is at least 300% of one policies yearly premiums are. I think in this case there would too high of a ratio of people paying into the insurance to claims each year. either that or it would be so outrageously expensive that you might as well just buy a bunch of back of airframes as your "insurance policy"
