I do not know, I did buy a bowman ring but have not installed it, looks like steel.

I also know I don't run 3 gallons of fuel through my Echo edger and blower before I run them WOT. I run my 55 pretty hard, but have the mix at 32:1.

Yep Steel rings.But rubbing on aluminum.
The 4 DLE's I've owned had poor bore jobs, which required a lot of break in time. And a lot of tweaking in until they were broke in. I had to return one before it ever had any airtime on it because the bore was so bad, I wasn't going to waist 25 gallons of gas to get the compression up on it.

The OS has a very well made and bored Steel liner for the Steel piston rings to seat on.

That being said. The 4 DA engines I've had, have not needed any break in time and required very little to no tweaking to get them running good. The machining job on the DA is night and day better than a DLE.

The dle-30 that quadracer now how has required tinkering 3 times during the first 5 gallons of break in which occurred in the sky with little to no 3d. Then went synthetic after break in and the final tweak.

Not yet. I've got a 72 Extra on the way, hopefully I'll get it done by next weekend and have a chance to fire it up. Everything "feels" ok turning it over by hand, but we will see.

Gas requires: Fuel dot, ign kill, extra servo for throttle, reliable switch/power kill, fuel line, fuel tank setup

As long as your not factoring in a charger setup those little extras add up and end up making gas just a touch more expensive in the 70" size. We arent talking large sums of cash but it does turn out more expensive. I went gas because i wanted to try it and cannot afford/transport a 50cc plane.

The bowman ring I put in my 30 seemed to break in very fast. Actually I'm not even sure it had a break in period. It's ran awesome ever since I put it in.

I'm putting an 8oz tank in the Velox/OS GT22 I'm putting together right now.

Frankie's DLE30 and teookie's DLE30 are two that I have witnessed that run very well. My experience with them pretty much mirrors wamsy's.

I made a few extra standoffs today.

If anyone needs some 1.75" standoffs let me know. $15 shipped.

OS 33 prop bushings are 2 for $10 shipped.


I also made a set of custom ones for a hacker A100-10 on a 104 slick. 3" long with a 1" diameter base

You need to get that extra out to play again. We should meet up at RCRC sometime.

BTW those standoff's look very nice!

Yes that has been my experience as well. Starting and idle is much better and more top end as well!
