That is plausible. The shape fits and it may be common enough.

Ah servo's. Hitec, Futaba, they are all good and they all fail on occasion. I'm not sure one brand is more likely to fail then the other. Although I've personally had better luck with Hitec.

The plane called for 5g servos, so I got 5g servos and they stripped, LOL, I couldn't care less if my servos were Hitec or HK but if I've heard that they fail.. I stay away from them.
Well I told you that I've seen a futaba fail so you can't buy those either

and hitec has great customer service. Never paid a dime for anything, even when i stripped a 65MG in a crash and they replaced the gears and shipped back to me for free.

I have 7985's in my 72 and have no complaints. I do have a bunch of Futaba BLS-175's laying around that I may swap into it and see if I notice a difference.

BLS-172HV. Arguably the best servo on the market, LOL.

514 oz-in torque and 0.11 speed and only 1 failure away from destroying a 100cc sbach, LOL.

Soooo many more people using hitecs is going to lead to you hearing about the failures more often. I don't think 3DHS AND Extreme Flight would recommend hitecs on ALL of their planes if they didn't think they were reliable.
+1

What ever 50 or 55 hitec servo you had it was not made for 3D planes that is your fault! Don't blame the brand.
