Would the O.S. GT55 be the way to go on an 87 SHP? I mean, I know everybody seems to love the DA 60 as well... but I've heard nothing but praise for O.S. recently.

Perfect 3pt inverted landing!

bivens has his 33 propped for fast throttle response. He's flying a 18x6.5W I think. So it's no surprise it was so snappy.

I spoke to Mike at ibcinyourc, and he had some nice things to say about the PTE36, I think that is the route I'm going to go...

No. THE GT55 is not a good 3D engine. It is a good pylon engine, if you know what I mean.

Do they not make a good engine for 3D in that range? I'm just curious... I'd probably end up with a DA-60 anyways if I do ever go gas on the 87.

The only engine in that size is The GT55, it is a front carb design. It likes to run really well at full throttle.
The GT33 is a typical rear carb design and runs well at all throttle positions.

DA60 is clearly the engine to beat at that size/weight range at the moment... wonderful engine.

People that are anti-3d in attitudes. They mainly believe that planes shouldn't fly the way we fly them, and that you should fly 'the pattern' at a field, and fly clockwise or counter clockwise circles in the sky only. This in itself would be ok, but the the generally outspoken and hostile attitude towards anybody that doesn't fly in circles up high (the way they fly) is what makes them not well regarded. Can be young people or old, but is most common among older pilots.

Yeah there's a few guys like that who get pissed when I hover slightly off the edge of the runway. I'm a good 15-20 feet away from the landing zone but they still get mad for some reason.
