I finally figured out how to do rolling downlines that curve into rolling harrier.
Its been a long day on phoenix. First I had to relearn how to do a rolling harrier on phoenix. I'm so air headed when it comes to learning new stuff. If I were to sit and think about what is going on it would be so much easier. POINT THE STICKS WHERE YOU WANT THE PLANE TO GO. Anyway its not like i'm bringing it straight down the runway yet but i'm able to transition from vertical to horizontal roller without crashing 2/10 times now. Thats good enough to try on balsa right? BTW all this is at work. i love my job. |

Having the surfaces flush and trimmed for level upright flight are two different things.

it'd be wise to learn to do all that stuff at 40 feet first then start moving it down. Just saying from experience. I tried flying to low to soon and it didn't work out so great.

it seems like doing it 40 feet up is the smart way,but I've do inked planes doing it low and there seems to be less damage unless I'm knee deep in the throttle and can get up some speed.(less airspace to fall heheh) but theres a dead zone us huckers know of thats about 15-50 feet me thinks i remember..just long enough to dust the plane when it hits heheheheheh

First, WOW, this is the first chance to check in with the threads since I signed off last night.
Now I'm 16 pages into a new thread before my first post, I'm truly slacking Regardless, I'm checking in! Cool quick unrelated story .... in some of the past threads, the discussion of pinewood derby cars have come up. Well, this year, I continued to ask my son the question, do you want to have a great looking car, or a fast car. Well, this year he said, Dad, I really want to win. (Oh, no I said to myself) ... Long story shorter, he had his races today and came in first for the Wolves, and 2nd for the entire pack (74 cars). He can actually go compete in the regionals if he wants. Best of all, I had him really help with the car, as in past years, so he really did earn in. Very proud dad! Personally, I see a corsair right there. Mmmmm, would love a 3DHS Corsair! |

I don't care if the world is ending in December, in Buffalo it was 40 deg, no snow on the ground, less than 5 mph winds and I got 8 packs in on various members of the fleet. Flew with 4 friends and had a great afternoon. Maidened the EPP Slick and 48" EPP Extra, two more great planes to fly. We hope to get some more flights in tomorrow before the biig game.
It's one of the weirdest winters I recall. |
