Yep, Plano 1404-02 box you can get at Wal Mart. Great TX box!
Just has a enlarged sticker the owner had made from one of the small ones.
Others have done the same around here.

Good $20.00 box and better than the over priced metal ones.
Why would one pay $50 to $85.00 for TX box, just a waste of money
to me.

Just saw the DX18 QQ is out. I wonder what the differences are in programming and functions?

Had the Plano box which will work but using the Pelican iM2200 which is much stronger & better for packing when traveling.

Speaking of cases, how would the DX18 fit in the SPM6708?

On the pelican, can you take a photo of how your DX18 fit? How did you cut the foam?

Recognizing that the question wasn't directed at me I can provide an additional data point. I am using a Pelican 1520 to house both my DX18 and my DX6i.

I was fortunate to find a good case at a closeout price and it works well to protect the radios.

P.S. Approximate dimensions of the closed case are 19" x 15" x 7". It's pretty compact and can be locked with a couple of padlocks if one so desired.

Thanks mejmea for the other data point. That looks like an interesting option.

Fits tight. Even though the foam is cut for it. I have that case, and bought the foam for the JR double case. A lil shaving of the outside of that foam and it will slide right down into this case, making it a double case. The DX18 fits nicely in the JR double foam. I have my 8 and 18 in the case.

If all you need is a single box - The Plano is very good - it comes with three layers of foam -so you just plck out the cubes as needed and the tx is very well protected -all around- It won't work for two tx tho-
I use the moulded Venom cases on my other tx-these from Horizon-. light n strong
For years I used the custom JR boxes - these are great . Just a matter of what you like .

I am not into wearing or showing off designer names: no Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfilger clothes and no QQ radios for me.....

If HH and Spektrum really thought people were unique, they would offer an individually personalized version of the DX18, in the manner of the customized EK Championship radio (i owned two of those) and the Kraft Signature series radio.

Serialized, with the number and owners name engraved on the TX and on the TX case. Keep the cool darker TX and the extra software bits.

After all, what is so unique about 2000 radios with one guys name on them all??....

People like that -
The Eddie Bauer Fords sold very well
Years back -I did a pattern model in tan and teal and added the Eddie Bauer stripes and logo - just for the heck of it .
I got asked "Are you Eddie Bauer?"
" Who is Eddie Bauer"
" What does Eddie Bauer mean?"
I suspect the guys with the new 18's will get the same treatment .
At least , it's a conversation starter

The the radio trim and features look pretty handy to boot.

The DX8 wasn't for everyone, the DX18 wasn't for everyone and NOW the DX18QQ isn't for everyone. This is normal
It doesn't take away from what it is and that's a pretty cooling looking radio at least in my eyes and since Beauty is in the eye of the beholder not everybody will like it.

The Colour isn't for ME as it would mean it would no longer match my DX8 sitting next to it in my case.

Based on the Rubberized Roller Menu Button on the DX18 and comparing it with the none rubber of the DX8, I would surely go for the rubberized toggle switches.

Sure would like for the extra features to work there way down to the DX18 and and other features to make there way down to the other radio as well.

Can't wait to hear from the people who bought them.

You can also now get foam for the case to do double transmitters.
