Interesting build. I have never seen a EDF built with locking tabs or out of balsa.

come on now..The Habu is built with locking tabs amoung a plethorea of others..(Theres a few in my nose)
and come on .....
Not a stitch of Balsa in this build thus far?????

There were a few tabbed (small bulkheads)in the nose but the rest just slide into the PLYWOOD spines.(just a slot in the bulkhead)...The PLYWOOD/depron laminated bulkheads that is...
Balsa would not hold up to anything and I certainly would not use it here...

The bulkheads do have slots that the battery tray stringers slide into and slots for the spines to slide into...I think it will be an incredible structure, especially when all the parts are in place and it is skinned but we all have our opinions on the right/wrong way to build..When I saw the autocad drawing I thought it would be an interesting build and nothing has changed my mind (yet)...It is just a drawing that I was able to trace the individual parts out and it's all up to me from there...
I like a challenge nd I think I will end up with an incredible aircraft..

Smkn, wish I could throw this together like you did..Hell I couldn't put a profile F22 together as fast as you did the Jetsett version!!I also have to grab another ESC..Those HV Castle's cost!!! 230.00 for the 120!!they are proud!
No way man I would never do that..Will check it out and also visit the other place you mentioned....Take care............................Chris

Chris, i t would take me forever to build if i had to fork over 230......no rush man. just watching this with a whole lot of interest and see how you're gonna do the duct work. i have 2 70mm laying around.
fiddling with the f-22 last night and i stuck my arm in the intake.......it's big...

Hey Guys,

I am also building one of these F22's, mine will be powered by twin 70mm HET units on 5S producing about 3kg thrust each. I am trying something new with my ducts, i will be 3D Printing my Ducts... I don't know if it will work but nevertheless I am willing to experiment. I am doing this for mainly one reason, my school recently invested in a 3D Printer being one of the only owners of a printer in New Zealand. I have split the intake and exhaust ducts into sections and printed the first lot today. It worked great and I am very happy with the results so will be printing the rest within the next week or so.

Sorry for stealing your thread Hover
