Great minds

I high hot glue my hinge wood into my A-4 wings, looks like overkill but it will hold the pin hinges well.

What do you think your AUW is going to be?

Your builds make me more confident in building larger scale EDFs with depron and pink foam.

Just about complete with my frame structure so next is building up support for both power units. Base prime colour will follow so all the imperfections and gaps in the depron joints can be filled in. This is when I start enjoying my build after all the hard work is done and the real progress can be seen, Joe.

Using the hight strength bond and screws, shroud brackets were fitted to the units and while attached and aligned the whole asembly is well anchored to the air frame using slow cure epoxy, Joe.

First coat of primer applied, next filling up all dints and painting it over to finish off my build, Joe.

Great news, AUW will be well under 7kg, after my first scale check inc. four 4S4500/45C packs. Raining again so back to the build, Joe.

New thrust tubes made up and fitted to the power units so back to painting, Joe.

I'm really starting to consider twin 90s for twin fan scale model setups.

IIRC Knife did 180mph on his Falcon with twin wemotec 90s on 8s.

I don't expect this model to be faster then 90-100mph, being such a huge air frame, just about perfect speed for enjoyable flying. I love jets but speed is never my priority, Joe.

Finally made up Elevon controls by laminating layers of depron and balsa wood, more work done on Rudd. fins using my logo, Joe.

After few late nights it's finally starting to look like a model aero, it absolutely dwarfs my earlier 64mm twin design foamy that I used to consider one of my larger EDF, Joe.

I managed to make up and fit the landing gear today with the simple steering nose gear so it's only few things like ESC hook up and soon she'll be in the air, Joe.

Installation and hook up of ESCs is fully complete, throttle calibration and some reprograming was performed followed by first run to check that all works well. Impressive sound and thrust on full stick and I can say it's not only the largest but most likely the most powerfull twin EDF foamy built. Next job will be static thrust test using scale just to give me an idea what it pulls, Joe.
