Are they both electric? Sure are lovely little boats, and finely crafted.

Yes both are fully RC. Mack 1885 6-12v motor, two channel Futaba radios and ESC. The propellors are 1.25" Dumas, the rudders I fashioned from brass and have about 1/8 inch forward balance, and both running off 7.2 NMH batteries. In their "heated domestic test tank testes",aka, my hot tube which is 6ft across they can do turns in one half of the tub, about 12 inches diameter. I'm looking foward to launching them this Saturday.

What a good looking pair. I like the curtains, nice color combinations too. Did you polish the rudders?

I polished then machine-jeweled the rudders on both boats, just to be different! I was looking back over posts and thought someone had asked for a copy of the profiles for the Harbor Master, the set of plans I bought the person had traced ALL the pieces of wood from the kit. I made a couple copies. Get back to me if still interested. Cpl.fuzz

Just a little FYI, I needed some crew members for the two Midwest boats I just finished. I visited a couple hobby shops and found a couple G scale RR figures, they are LGB's conductors and motorman. A little paint work, and little Greenstuff putty and I have three pretty good sea captains. The one in white had the most work, carve away his right bulging pocket, a litle putty on his hat and some to turn his coat into a double-breasted with putty buttons, then paint. Took all of and hour to do. And they look real good in the wheel-houses. Happy messin in boats. Cpl.fuzz

A quick update, I painted the hull and bottom, the hull has a little run in it but I think once the trim is added you wont even see it. I also build a cabin roof out of styrene since the wood was giving me problems. I still need to do some filler work to it, lets just say it wasn't to easy to get the perfect shape bending it with heat. I also made a display stand out of plexiglass, it came out alright for my first shot!
