Got some wire and wheels for the main legs
Good to see it on its feet
I have joined the front to the back with 4 screws so that I can reverse engineer it for the second model(or easy repair)

Bill if you had seen and heard me about an hour ago my vision hit a brick wall
Where I want to fit servos the supports for the shroud need to go in the same place
So I walked away and had a glass of wine, now my vision is clearer

I made the prop duct from a plastic paint pot
I cut the base out (pac-man in photo) then a section to fit an 8inch prop
I used a second paint pot to maintain the shape during construction
Then glued on 4 ply hard points for the rudder and wire supports
Then 1/4inch balsa and sanded to shape
Some filler and sanding sealer

Joe: I went looking for something similar but in the lamp shade section of the department store. Too expense and then I thought of the same thing as you but with my prop size it would be a 5 gal bucket. Too big and heavy so I am going a different route. Yours came out perfect Nice thinking !!!.

Joe,
Looking good and a good idea regarding the ducting

Dave's doing a good job too, just a shame he doesn't post or share with others not quite the same seeing things 2nd 3rd hand. But an excellent model as always

I was the same looking at shades and kitchen containers but I noticed in my back garden the empty pots from the summer fence maintenance
I don't want to add any more weight to it so I will leave it as it is
If all goes well at the flying stage I might be able to use it as a plug and try and make a lighter hollow vac formed one for the mark 2.

Dave has very little spare time (unlike me)what time he has he uses it to build but I'm glad he is willing to share his build with us and look forward to his progress
Joe
Got the rudder made, balsa and carbon tube tried to add ribs as per full size but gave up on it

Joe: I went to the lumber yard to get some supplies and look what I found left over from X-mas Dirt cheap too , It could work with a smaller 11.5 prop I just had to post sorry for hi-jacking your thread.
