It could work, but at the specs shown I think it'd be better for the mini yak or something like the mini.

Desperate times need desperate measures. It's my last prop, it's 9 inches and I'm on 3s...

How long will the motor last and how many watts will it kick?

I had an interesting chat with mark at parkaero today, he was experimenting with ESCs and said that his findings show that all ESCs are not created equal and it might be time to upgrade my sunrise esc. Sounds most interesting he found a 10% increase in power just by swopping out the esc. Thanks Mark!

Not long. 3S on an 8x4.3 is actually pushing these motors a bit. Cut down the prop to 8 inches and balance it and keep an eye/finger on the temps...it won't be as good as a real 8x4.3 but you should get your fix!

The cold and these props don't mix to well. Broke three last time I flew and I didn't think it was that cold. Try the TH esc jimbo once I got one I switched all of the fleet over.

Nevermind, Cody you sneaky guy you!

That motor is too small and light. You will need a motor that is 20-26 grams and can put out 70-110 watts.

Well has anyone tried 9 inch on 3s or am I the guinea pig?
Not today, waaaay tooo cold.

Edit : Cody just read your reply. Cutting props is prolly over my skills limits.

Just turned it over in the house. OMG serious power in 1/3 throttle and heating up!

Ps that is what crack yak looks like with over 100 packs on the clock! Can't be bad!

Ok...... I think I'll take that prop off then. I could feel the esc heating up. I should be getting some connectors for my wattmeter soon. I'll measure the power though beforehand

I must add this was by accident when swapping from 2s to 3s and forgetting to change the prop

I was surprised how much of a difference swapping my Sunrise for a ZTW ESC made! It really does give it a noticeable power boost. They also start the motor instantly and consistently (the reason I swapped out the Sunrise).

You don't get the extra power for free though. I had to adjust my timer from 4:30 to 3:40 (running batteries to down to 20%).
