Hey guys, I got a small break in the rain this afternoon and put a couple flights on mine. It flew awesome as expected! Battery location right over the spar is good CG if you are using the landing gear.

One thing about the landing gear that I noticed is that it slows the roll rate down a bit and adds a little more heft to the plane. The roll rate thing is a negative IMO but the heft part gives it a little better penetration and mass which is good. It's going to be a preference thing as to whether you like it better with or without the gear. I am going to have on each way .

ordered late friday night, no gear as I missed the fine print in haste, got home tonight and it was at my door,,,,WOW, 4 hours build and it is totally ready to fly,

RTF minus battery 120 grams, with battery 150 grams, I'm stoked, club indoor fly in tommorow.........

Servos are Dymond 4.7g 21oz torq
Turnigy 2204 14T motor 19g
ThunderBird 9 ESC
FASST 6004 Rx 4g
Hyperion 2s 450 25C battery

Awesome kit great build essay Chris J, THE ONLY THING I had any hiccup with is those freakin small push washers onto aluminum post, I broke off one stud, and broke one plywood horn had to drill new hole lower, made a dowel push tool to aid in the rest. Might want to install these before gluing in horns on a flat surface.

I use QUICK GRIP, a Beacon product from Walmart craft section.

I would like to see a video of this plane. Seems odd there isn't one out yet. I'm looking for results on floaty and up line with the supplied motor.

I'll get a video posted as soon as possible. The Weather here sucks ATM and we are still working on setup stuff for the build log and manual.

Question

Chris,

On the aileron servo arm, when I wiggle mine in there, is is very tight, even when down on the servo. Have you guys had to cut out a little head room? Additionally, seems pretty hard to get the screw through the hole in the middle of the servo arm to tighten it down, is that even needed?

Good job BK! Yes you can cut a little headroom if needed and yes you need the screw.

I broke down and ordered mine today. I'm getting the Orange Scheme with the landing gear. While I was at it, I also ordered a Sbach kit as a replacement for my Edge 540, when I determine it is finally too long in the tooth.

I don't know how differently the Yak will fly from my Edge, but it sure has a distinctive look being so angular.
