I took some weight measurements while I was building mine. I don't know if my weights are typical.

Build complete except for SFG's (and without Receiver, Motor, ESC, Landing Gear, Push Rods, Horns and Servo Arms) = 113g.

Added Motor, ESC, Receiver, Horns & Servo Arms (and without SFG's, Push Rods & Landing Gear) = 166g.

Added SFG's, Prop, Push Rods & Landing Gear. Everything except for battery = 187g

I believe you can save about 13g by leaving off the landing gear.

I'll be interested to see how my slim yak at 172 compared to the fat yak at 270g!
I might be able to maiden it, next month when it stops raining.

I seriously needs backup frame, plus the Pitts. I see why the addiction analogy comes in so often. This much fun should be illegal. I can't get over the roll rate. Makes is super exciting to fly

What is Pa Addiction? this is my first 3d plane and find it great as well....now, it seems like more experienced flyers are all praises to this plane....makes me think, maybe I dont need the bigger 43" planes....

there are also few others who seem to be very concerned about the flying weight......from what I understood, as long as we stay within the ballpark weight range, specified on the box, i believe 170 to 210 grams?.....this plane should fly optimally, isnt it? Engineering, design and through testing has been done for us already as mentioned by Herc777.....whats left is for us to go out there fly, practice and have some fun.......I dont understand why some others want to re-engineer/redesign this thing......when even the experienced ones are already attesting to its greatness.......cheers...

my humble suggestion......just follow the recommend gear; motor, esc, etc...you will fall within that recommended all-up flying weight for sure........then go out and fly.....like Rick said.....you cant go wrong with this plane....if this gurus in flying are not even thinking about any modification.......how can we???......if theres anything wrong......I think its our skills........

Had some more flights in stronger wind today. I didn't even change the prop from 8x3.8 and even on 2s, with that crack motor, it is pretty decent!

I know you guys are talking about using 3s.
So can I just swop my 2s battery for a 3s for extra power? Don't I need to check/change the motor/esc as well?
