Very cool. I recently finished my 26 in J3 Cub, but now that Guillows is offering more of their kits laser cut, I may have to convert a few of them.

What motor/battery combo will you be using to power your Cub?

I like it. What are you going to use for radio gear?

Hey, I was just up in your neck of the woods last month on a business trip. I about killed myself trying to down an entire King Louie breakfast. That reindeer sausage didn't sit well with me.

If I lived there I know I would get a lot more building in. Are you going to put skis on that baby?

Was it pretty hard to do the conversion to add ailerons and rudder/elevator? I just received mine in the mail, and I'm considering starting this soon, is it pretty easy? This is my first balsa model that I will be building. Any advice?

It is a little bit of a challenge. The elevator and rudder were already marked on the plans. They were pretty easy. the fuselage had almost no modifications other than the pushrod tubes and the servo tray. The hardest part has been the ailerons. I cut the back off of the ribs where the aileron was going to be and then I sanded them down and added balsa to the leading edge of the aileron and to the trailing edge of the wing. I used the dimensions of the piper j 3 cub for the ailerons size.
You should also look at other builds for ideas.

Can you post some pictures of the fuselage so I can get an idea? I think I will only do rudder and elevator. How do You hinge them and what do I use for control horns or what? That is what I am really confused on because I have never built a balsa plane before only foamies.

Hi
I just started work back on the super cub.
I just covered the first wing.
I have decided to change the covering to iron-on stevens aeromodel aerolite covering instead of tissue.
