I think it was a pretty good turn out. Several vendors, but I don't think there was as many as last year though. I will be posting more videos on youtube including the flight-line and vendors over the next few days. You can search skyjet111 on youtube to find my videos.

I say we all ask Foam and Tape to do a video with these two jets. His video on The Twins over in the Scratchbuilt section was a real crowd pleaser. My young sons and I watched that a few times when first posted and its was one of the best RC videos I have ever seen!

Skyjet,

Nice! The Mig sure looks impressive when it's doing the 'turn & burn'. Doesn't look like it bogs down in the corners very much, if at all. When the Sabre showed up, I was hoping that a dogfight would ensue.

OK, now somebody needs to come out with a universal ultra-micro IR-blaster machine-gun kit!

Back on the Mig topic. For those interested in my point of view.
E-fest gave me the opportunity to put a lot more flights on a Mig than before, and to get one dialed in to taste.
Generally, it is just a sweet flying and predictable plane.
I have some personal 'thing' about flying a jet through aerobatics and stuff with the 'gear down', so I mostly flew mine gear removed. I like the fact that the Mig can belly land without any critical components contacting the ground... a little clear tape in the obvious spots is suggested.

The Mig is quite quiet, while having very good power. It has a nice speed range. (The first trim flight in the dome with everyone watching certainly got the adrenaline going... even for and ole jet guy.)
The 28mm fan and careful engineering allow a very scale outline to include the inlet and tailpipe while maintaining good acceleration and speed. It is also clean this way, so it carries great energy and speed in dives and so forth.

The AS3X if performing very well, and the Mig is smooth and predictable throughout the flight envelope.Did not even notice much from the typical wake turbulence in the armory. It is precise allowing one to hold a pretty reasonable formation. The conventional semi-symmetric airfoil is very pitch stable (and I enjoyed watching Mike M do inverted circuits, and outside snaps in the armory). I expect the half dozen or so guys that hand launched me all did an excellent job, but I was impressed that it flew out perfect every time.... Have to believe that the AS3X helped here.

Probably got about 6 flights on Saturday and about 10 on Sunday, and my (Horizon's) aircraft was completely reliable, and did not receive any dings.

Just thought I would put down my thoughts FWIW.

Mig Guy,
David
