One of my favorite Soaring History persons and was proud to have him as a friend.
Chuck Hollinger
Meet him back in the mid 80's at Harbor Soaring Society.
What a great guy.

For those who may not have known him or wish to revisit;

The info gleen out of these articles is priceless. Not to mention the pictures of some really beautiful sailplanes like the cover page for RC Speed and Sport from MAN that never made it to plan or kit. Sadly most of these one of a kind are lost forever unless some one out there has a lead or a copy.
You just don't see this stuff anymore since the invasion of the ARF which started long ago.

Maybe I should read a few of the magazines being printed these days but I wonder if they have articles like this in them?

Another Eclipse! This one by Joe and Jim Matous.

I am not getting very far very fast with Hal Cover's Eclipse and now . . . .

Speaking of Hal Cover, this is the third mention of him I have found in the model press. The first two are sailplanes plans and now free flight rubber.
Making the world smaller, he was born in the same town I was!

Ok here's a cover of American Aircraft Modeler that has special meaning to me. The photographer is one of my hero's the late Howard Levi. The cover show's Pete Brucia flying a Stearman C-3R, Dick Mohut flying a Flager Fleet Hi Tow and Duncan Morrison flying the Piper Cruiser. I'm in the back seat of the Cruiser. When I first saw this mag I was 12-13 and it blew me away. That was at the Willis Craft shop on Long Island.
