Nice job Newbie! I'm jealous. Got the tracking update on mine, it's already here in Long Beach, CA. Maybe I'll get it a day early Forgot to order a pilot figure so got this Hangar 9 one. If not, I'd be waiting for weeks from H.K.

Nice flying there, queadlunnrau. Looks like you're getting the feel for that big foam bird. Seems like it's very agile for it's size & weight.

Where do you have the CG? Looked like it was flying fairly neutral when inverted. What power set up are you using? Is it stock, or? (Forgive me if you've posted this before)

Like your "hang-ar" set up. I see you've got the Dynam Pitts 42 on the wall as well. I've really been enjoying flying that big Bipe, too...

She's a quick bird, probably my fastest prop plane. Stock motor and stock esc, 14x7E prop.

CG is a touch back from stock, using a 3000mAh instead of the recommended 3200 I think I have it around 115mm.

Yea I love the Dynam Pitts, that's my current go to plane as I can land that in a tiny baseball infield. Both are great looking planes in the air, I would buy both again in a heartbeat should either get totaled in the enevitable crash.

Acctually my Sbach was totaled b4 and after some gorrila glue, flex ca+ and paint it still flies just as good as when she was new.

Not too long ago my Sbach looked like this

Its a Hobby King MX2 vs. SBACH 342 (1400mm) thread with a few post!

When you do get her, check the firewall. the few vids ive seen the fire wall hasn't been glued in, neither was my Sbach
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1602287
Thanks for the tip and the link. Yah I was surprised that I couldn't find a thread for the MX2. Very similar to the Sbach so following this one as well. Sounds like the Sbach is the better plane but I figured the MX2 would be better for 3D, perhaps once I change out the servos and maybe giver her a power upgrade. Anyone who has the Sbach also have eflite carbon z yak? how do the two compare?

Maiden

Successful maiden today. Got 3 flights in this afternoon. Maiden was uneventful. 2 clicks of right trim, and one click of up elevator and was flying hands off. By the 2nd flight, I was already trying some snap rolls, tumbles, spins...No flat spins yet... No one around to shoot some video, so next time.
AWESOME PLANE!!!Lovin' it.

P.S. Anyone try a 12x10 prop?
They're definitely doing something different with the wing paint vs when I got mine. Looks much better now.

Yeah, all the guys at the local field where I fly were saying how "shiny" it looks.
A couple guys have the Dynam Sbach and I could see their eyes turning green.
Got 3 more flights in after work late evening. Looks really cool with the sun at you're back just about to set.
Once again, no video but next time for sure(I'm bringing my own camara.)

I tried the DuBro Tailwheel #955 as a replacement. Unfortunately it is not the right length.
The next one up might work.

I patched up the white plastic bracket on mine, after it cracked. It is still holding up, but the metal is to soft.
Also used push/pull cables to steer the Tailwheel instead of those thin pushrods. At least that will keep it attached if it falls off again.

Hey J3, I got the BuDro(inside joke) #957 which is for 90-120 sized nitro airplanes.
Works great for the lumpy, bumpy grass field where I fly.

Nah, they're just little hex head screws. They're the only ones I had lying around that would fit. The stock ones were too short , and the new ones were too big to thread into the existing blindnut or whatever it is in the tail. I figured I'm not going to be unscrewing them anytime soon(hopefully)

Hello,

Someone says they used DuBro 2 3/4 as spinner. Well ok.
And if i want a similar spinner on Hobbyking (see picture) its have a 8mm Mount hole.
So, there will be problems with the shaft which is 6mm diameter
Did you guys bought this one too?

The DuBro spinner has different shaft spacers. That gives you the best fit for whatever motor or engine shaft you have.
I would look for one with the shaft spacers, that way you have more options.
