Check out these Cu's, and nicely mowed grass!

What a day, big thermals, but they didn't always come all the way down to the ground, so you had to work to get to them... or just throw really hard.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Adam and Rick. I know how difficult it is to put on SASS dlg contests. They do a great job and things are really well organized. They keep a good pace going so that we all get the rounds in and get done in a reasonable time. The new clocks they came up with are outstanding! You can tell that they have there heart into making everyone feel welcome, newcomers always come away with a feeling that everyone there will lend them a hand and help them as much as possible. I'm proud to be associated with them and the job there doing! Again thank .........you. Looking forward to flying with the best more often!

Happy 60th Birthday Space Needle

If I remember correctly, after the 64 fair the company that built the space needle was offering to put one up in your back yard for $3.5 million!

Hey don't age me so much! It's the 50th birthday!!

My 14 year old buddies and I would jump up on the loading dock of the Opera House, run down the ramps to the basement and end up under the stadium seats where they had all the cheap carnival-like vendor booths and you were IN for a free day of fun.

My most memorable memory of the space needle was is 1972. I was working in the consession stand about 200' from the base of the needle. I was less than 120' from where the first suiside jumper landed. Sounded like a shotgun when off. Also in 1983 I knew the maintenance manager and he took me and my wife to the stair well and up a ladder on the wall and through a hatch on the ceiling and then we were standing on the roof of the needle for a while. Very different view.

Aw Dave, you're making me blush..... :-). Seriously Red has been doing these contests for something like 15 years. His passion and enthusiasm for our hobby is amazing. It's a bit of work to put these on but well worth it. Thanks for the compliment.

Now how about you start teaching me your awesome air reading skills!

Well, I'd call it "schooling" or beating my pants off but you can call it what you want.
