John, this is a great thread. I found it through the link you posted on the other thread. Thanks a lot!
About 5 or 6 years ago, I started photographing my entire collection, mainly so I could drool over the engines all the time, on my PC, without digging through boxes and getting covered in grease. I suppose everyone knows that Windows XP allows you to use any of your own directories as a screen saver. This is great, if your brain dries up a bit on what you're supposed to be doing and you don't hit a key for 5 minutes, loads of beautiful engines start floating across the screen, and the world becomes a better place...
The photo shows my very early Dyno running... Have a close look... No compression screw... and no fuel needle... How's that for flexibility?

I need an engine for a period Jr. Satan build. I used a Veco 19 BB back in the day with fair success and that was one that was lost in the box rip-off. But I haven't seen one around to replace it. Any other ideas on a fairly hot vintage .19 or maybe I should use the Enya (I was going to use that on a Magician .15 - thought maybe it might be beter suited for that duty. Any ideas/suggestions.

There's something very noble about those battered old Taipan diesels. They remind me of the "1/3 of each" home made fuel made from Ether and Castor from the local Chemist carefully mixed with Kero from the drum for our old Fyrside heater.

There was also lots of blood.

A few years ago a mate and me came across a brand new crankcase for one of those Taipan 1.5cc OK Cub style engines in a Sydney hobby shop. Must have been there since the early 60's. I bought it on the spot.

I have one of those Taipans somewhere in pretty good nick. I'll have to look for it.

Here's an old Super Tigre 1.5cc. I think its designation was G31.

I've often wondered if this Super Tigre was the inspiration for Burford's similarly configured 2.5cc diesel.

A clubmate had one of the G-31's but it's crank broke. I thought that they were quite susceptible to this fault.

I think GB copied a lot of engines ,

always out with a new design rather than developing a design he had ...

I wonder how it might have been different if the engines had been developed and improved app-on [ Diesels ]

The Super Tigre G31(1.5cc) came out in 1956 and the G 32(1cc) in 1957:

I bought my G31 new about 1958. It never had the neoprene part on the rear of the intake. Also, I bent the tommybar myself, it was originally straight.
I also had ther G33 which was similar to the G31 but was 2.5cc and had a red muff.
That G33 was one hot engine in its day. Stupidly, I sold it back then.
