OK, Thanks!! I'll buy one from you as soon as you make some more. Please let me know! I sent you a PM...

I've ordered some more wood and spoke with the guy who does laser cutting for me, and all looks good for another batch. I'll post again when I have kits ready to ship.

I have a bix 2 as well as a classic SS. The nose of the Bix 2 is a fair bit longer than the original and I think it would need some tweaking to keep the long flat deck style properly. It could be done, but the fit wouldn't be as nice as above.

Rocketman, how would you go about slicing of the top nose foam of the fuselage in order to get a nice cut? I was thinking of using an exacto knife, extending the blade to a maximum, and use it as a saw while using a metal straight edge as a guide. Another way would be to use a fresh blade and a hobby knife, but using a straight edge might be difficult as the blade isn't as long.

Both methods should work fine - just make sure you're using a new, sharp blade. I usually use a hobby knife with the blade only partially inserted into the handle so that there's a little extra length to work with.

I'm back at college for the spring semester, but can probably have them shipped directly from the guy who does the laser cutting. I'll ask him and send you a PM after I hear back.

Great, thanks! If they aren't available anymore, it isn't a huge deal. Focus on your engineering studies to join our ranks .

Order your design

Hello,

Great design of the Pod. Myself have the Bixler 2 and I am interested to order your design. Will this work for the Bixler 2 since yours saids just the Bixler 1.1.

Hi Paul,

To my knowledge, the pod won't fit inside the Bixler 2. The tubes for the wing bolts take up the fuselage space where the battery tray would go. There may be a way to get around this, but I haven't tried.

Are these still available? I really like this design a lot better than the RMRC one I've seen.

I've got one of these on the way, but I'm worried about the CG with the battery mounted on the pod. I have to put a 4000mah 3s battery in the front of my sky surfer to balance it out. Any ideas?
