I just wanted to let everyone know...the assembly manual is nearing completion and I've placed an order for select balsa for the Monocoupe. As soon as the balsa gets here, I'll be cutting kits.

Mini Drake

What size battery do you recommend for the MD? Had my wife order the mini today, I have every thing but battery. Hoping to get it ready for Macs new lake at SEFF. Will Solite be OK for covering? Thanks BL

Magnets?

Zeke,

Could you give a source and size for the magnets you used, please? Are these magnets required back to back, or would one magnet mated to a piece of metal (like a small razorblade bit) be sufficient?

I'd like to try your pushrod and pod setup on another plane I'm considering.

Thanks,

Gene K

From Paul's build thread:

"1/8" diameter magnets are then glued to the balsa disks."

These look about right:

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=ZD4

I bought a 100 pack a year or so ago. (Lifetime supply )

Radio Shack has some in a similar size, 4 pack for about $2.00 - $3.00 a pack.

I bought two packs of these also.

The ones from K&J are nicer with a smooth, chrome finish. For this application, the rougher surfaces of the Radio Shack magnets might glue up better.

I just wanted to post a note that I finally have the wood in for making kits. I've got a run of some Drake kits I need to get finished and then I'm going to do a run of UM Monocoupes. I hope to have kits ready to ship out by the end of the week!

OK folks...I'm finishing up my first run of Micro Monocoupe kits as I type this. I just added the Monocoupe to my website and have made it available for purchase.

http://www.parkscalemodels.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=76

The link for the instruction manual isn't working because I need to do a little more work on it. It will be done in a couple of days.
