Now we have a little more info...which is always good to know.....(knowledge is good)...

are the HS5245 worth the extra expense over the HS225?

Digital servos usually hold better, and center better, at the cost of needing a better BEC to supply them. Most people using digital servos use an external BEC, which is a bit more weight, but not much.

It would be a good idea to decided whether it's a he or a she. Otherwise, it'll get a complex or something.

Good aircraft are "things of beauty", therefore they are always a "She".....

Per Bivens:

I added 1.5 oz to the firewall and a castle BEC pro on the "Shelf" I built over my batts....a pair of 3s-2600s pushed to the firewall. I really like this CG now....a little noseheavy on the inverted test....just a tiny pitch couple on KE.....I checked my CG on the fingertips.....3.75 inches....same as fliprob.

Thanks, I was figuring on adding 1 oz to the nose because I have a ton of 3s 2200s that I was going to run in series. Might have to do more. I will work with 3.75inches. thanks, again.

Sure, no problem....I decided to add an ounce or two of weight to the nose by putting in a 4315-480...but I have not mounted it yet or done any CG checking. I am planning on using 3s 2500's in series.

Hooked on 3DHS
lammbn's Avatar
with the 3620 mounted as far out as the cowl will allow my plane balanced perfectly with two 3s 2200's against the firewall. but i could not come up with a good way to secure them so i added two ounces to the firewall and moved my batts back a couple inches. i would really like to see some pics of the "shelf" that some of you built to hold your batteries up front. there doesn't look like much to secure it too at the front of the motorbox. has anybody else noticed how open the front of the motor box looks on this plane vs other 3dhs planes?
