I was kidding when I said they were flying it with a KK board. I have no idea what they're using. I just thought it would be funny if the core of this huge build was controlled with a PCB that costs $14 retail... Anyone know what FC they are using on this "human" quad?

There are many different types of flight controller boards to control multi-rotors. They all use sensors to make out which way the mutli-rotor is tilting so that they can compensate and level the frame. MultiWii is just one kind of flight controller -- many of them come fully assembled and use sensors that come out of a wii, but you don't need to buy a wii if the board is fully assembled. I'd recommend to start with a KK board if you're getting into quads or tris as it's easy to tweak with the pots that are on the board and they are very cheap.

Nothing groundbreaking; just did an endurance test of my Tri today to see how long it'd last on battery, and it puts me at 3rd place with 23:01. I might parallel my two 5AH batteries and see if that gives me a better time, just gotta scrounge up some connectors.

Tricopter Endurance Flight (5AH 3s) (4 min 1 sec)

Perhaps one of you might also know why the tail motor doesn't like to start up properly, it's happened a couple times now, I'm using an HK F-30A with SimonK FW.

Won't be winning any time awards with this one :P

Tricopter Crash (2 min 9 sec)

Attempted to fly with 10000mAH 3S today, tricopter crashed, I believe one of the bullet connectors on the front-left motor came loose in flight causing that motor to stop and put it into an uncorrectable spin/crash. Not sure if I'll try that heavy a battery load again, the tricopter seems to struggle quite a bit with the extra load (plus it was really windy today).

Here's one for the video...quad off of water

Quadrotor dunk test (4 min 26 sec)

Custom waterproof amphibious quad with:

- 4 x JDrones 850Kv motors
- 4 x JDrones 30A speed controllers modified for airframe (head sinks)
- DJI Naza
- Futaba 7 channel FAST 2.4 reciever
- 800mw 1.3 GHZ FPV video (not used for this video)
- GoPro Hero hard mounted
- 3s 2600ma

And, we are thinking of producing these. This rig is for sale but if I get enough inquiries I will custom build to suit.

Sorry to hear about your crash. The tri seems to fly fine with the 10000mah battery. It would be interesting to see how long of a flight time you can achieve with it. Bullet connectors are known to fail and you can consider soldering your motors straight onto the ESC.

Your entry was added to the all out time duration category in 3rd place. I still hope you get to try your 10A test.

Well I tried again today with 10AH, result was 29 mins 42 seconds, seems like a case of diminishing returns above 5AH, the sweet spot is probably around 4-8AH, but I could try moving to some bigger props, I think the 10x4.7's are a bit small for my build anyways. AUW for the flight was 1614g.
