FPV Tricopter build

I've started on my journey to FPV tricopter flying tonight. I placed my order for all of my copter parts. I will be building a tri based on the v2.5 write over at RCExplorer. I can't wait to get this bird in the air. I've ordered a HD 808 key chain cam to use until I get my GoPro and FPV gear. More to come as I get my build on....

I did the same thing about a week before Christmas. I going to be flying it LOS until I get used to flying it. I look forward to hearing how yours turns out.

You can use wood for everything. Tested and it works fine. Like this:

I used 10x20mm wood as legs - much harder to break, compared to 10x10; and 6mm plywood (weight is the same as 2mm PCB without copper).

All that space and they build semi-detached homes

Incredible terrain (Ougrabies) - thanks for sharing, never seen anything from that region before.

Yeah it's just holiday homes, so I guess the more they can get in the better.

Thanks all. I was looking for the G10 fiberglass board to finish up the frame. I was wondering about wood, but didn't know if it would be too heavy to carry the FPV gear and gopro..

I decided to dig around and see if I could hack together enough free stuff to build my tricopter. I'm using plastic from a cat litter bucket for the top and bottom plate. I think I will use 2 layers per top and bottom. Here are some pictures so far.

Nice, amazing how simple these things can be built!

As soon as any material get's sanwitched like this it gets very strong, you tend to use to thick materials..

Cheers!

I still have some time before my electronics come in from HK, so I decided I didn't like the plastic top and bottom plates. I couldn't find any wood thin enough, so I grabbed a board and took it to the saw. Here are my new top and bottom plates ready to drill the holes.
