I should have said this , but my 6s 2200kv motor system has CS 10 Bladed fans. I never checked the amp draw, but maybe I should. I always use 100amp ESC's, so it shouldn't be a problem. Also this unit http://www.x-flight.com.hk/?p=6&ev=&id=219 and others I've seen have 2200kv on 6s with 14blade fans. I'm just trying to wrap my brain around why these can't run 6s http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynamic-Bala...item20d80017f2 |

I tried the 2 x 4s in parallel in my 35, not a great outcome as MANY here warned me of -- I had 10B or 12B rotors, the Amp draw was high about 75-80A so my fans were working way harder to get thrust than a 6s would so any expected increase in flight time was negated! Worse was the thrust, just not enough to equal the added weight of 2 x 4s 3700 LiPos, so IMO the only way you can make 4s work in the 35 is use nice 5B fans with low amp draw, then you might make it work, but for 10-12B no way, just a waste of time and $!

Epoxy. Go back 10 or so pages. Any clear epoxy thinned works well on foam and is more durable than WBPU. And if you want prime or just paint over sanded epoxy. If done right you can use what ever paint you want since the foam is then sealed.

Those units are good, but HEAVY, IMO the below units are better based
on the weight/thrust for the $ a great unit http://rc-castle.com/shop/product_in...oducts_id=2888 This is interesting set but not sure its REALLY balanced http://rc-castle.com/shop/product_in...oducts_id=3338 Also I found this AGAIN, XRP 14B for 6s http://www.x-flight.com.hk/?p=6&lang=en&id=219 and if you want the absolute best the ERC 12B combos http://www.extremerc.com.au/estore/i...oducts_id=1268 Quote:

absolutely, nobody can beat ERC combos in terms of weight/ thrust and watts/thrust... for a price, of course no free lunch! right :-) |

Someone PMed me about the Z-poxy coating. Here are the tips I gave:
I used a certain amount with each section and I discarded the brush after each section, using the cheap foam rubber brushes. Lay your flat surfaces out before beginning so if you have a surplus of mixed epoxy you can cover an additional surface. I did not use alcohol. Fiber brushes will work also but the cheap brushes can shed fiber strands as you apply so be warned. Use equal amounts of the Z-poxy; do not guess; the mixture may remain tacky and never dry if you guestimate. Use light coats waiting at least an hour or more between each coat. I use at least two coats for each surface and never paint on a vertical or slanted surface to avoid runs. The Z-poxy is the 20 to 30 minute curing time type. If you get a running streak let it dry and you can sand it out after a second coat; sanding down to the paint is bad. After sanding you can use more Z-poxy but I use Rust-Oleum triple thick clear glaze spray to cover the sanding scraches; this stuff can really cause runs so apply it sparingly. It dries quickly though. I use at least two coats. MAKE SURE all areas are completely coated with Z-poxy before applying spray as the spray will eat through the foam! Tape up the canopy before you work and avoid coating the holes on the control surfaces where you will be using screws. Oh yes, for some reason sometimes an area of a section will not take the Z-poxy, be it grease on the surface or some other cause. Be certain all surfaces are clean. Check for bubbles on paint or decals before applying as the Z-poxy can cause more bubbling. Keep the jet out of hot areas like inside cars on a sunny day as this can cause bubbling. |

Thank you Urrl. I appreciate the detail indeed. Just what I needed. Did you notice any changes in flight performance after adding a thin layer on the wings?

The Russian girl (Think she worked for Sukhoi Design Bureau) who posts these vids is EXTREMELY ANTI American, her first YT page POWERRUSSIA was suspended due to policy violations, then she restarted this one POWERROSIYA, she would ONLY allow comments which were pro Russian- any comment which was counter was denied (all comments had to be approved be her) Anyway not saying its not true probably is, but EVERYONE of her vids was completely pro Russian military, not that there's anything wrong with that! but she clearly was anti-American and only allowed comments which denounced or denigrated or were REALLY derogatory to USA which bites

I don't feel a single thin layer is hard enough to withstand the things I put the jet through as far as handling is concerned, just my preference. I think a thin layer on the wings would be pretty negligible when it comes to performance. I have only flown with the entire upper surfaces of the jet covered though so just my assumption. In my experience the fuselage gets more scratches than the wings from fingernails, etc, specifically around the battery hatch.
