If you look back at the picture V8 posted https://static.rcgroups.net/forums/a...uWP_000056.jpg
Can hanging out appears to be 28mm because visually the black section of the can forms a square and we know its 28 wide so, 28 hanging out and 21 in the mount 49mm can.

So where did this kit and motors come from?

So are these the correct motors?

Your the first to post so I have no idea. But if you got the basic model using their way of measure, this would be their version of a 2839. If they rewound the motor to 3000kv they are just trying to improve a few more rpms over the original 2839-2800kv 4S. Those will do the numbers they posted on the side of the basic sport version.

That's my interpretation at least. Corrections from last nights posts;
The 2849-2300kv or 2849-2200kv is 49mm long but without the bearing ends is a 30mm can. The 2839-3000kv is 39mm long but without the bearing ends is a 26mm can.
Freewing isn't attempting to be misleading in their manor of measure because others use this also. May be a carry over from classifying outrunners vs inrunners.

Can't wait to see the 3D version and what some take delivery of from BH and R2F.

That's my interpretation at least. A true 2839 would perform much better though.
Though I don't have a 4S plane...I purchased a 3d 6S plane.

I sent an email to freewing with pictures....hopefully we will hear back.

I just purchased one of these for another plane and will likely use the same here.

Ah did you read those numbers. Its 29mm motor should still fit the FW housing but thats 191g each motor. And its burning 85amps ea at full bore. That's hot and heavy. Thats heavier than my entire Fan and motor. V8s Fan and motor weighed 175g. So you have some figuring to do.
The Battery bay is only 200X55X59 so you may be using more of it than the rest of us

Yup, it is heavy...but boy does it run. I would likely use the Tahmazo fan as well.

heres the measurements. Looks like the banana motor can is measured from 10mm to 30mm

https://static.rcgroups.net/forums/a...1-DSC_3964.jpg

Where as these Rc castles are from 10mm to 40mm in photo. 10mm difference between the 2.

For reals Max no more measuring! Lol!

Ok so its a 30mm can. The end numbers is what counts and may be more is needed for 3kg. The Wemo Mini at 12g heavier than the 2849 stock but will put out 4kg at speed.
Can't wait to wake this puppy up.
Last edited by Maxthrottle; Jan 17, 2012 at 11:30 AM. Reason: 40mm to 30mm can outrunner which performs closer to a 40mm inrunner can

So by these measures they are indeed the 2849 2300kv's, correct?

What's so special about the wemo mini fan that gives it more thrust than the stock freewing, besides the wemo being 5 blade the look the same. Is it the wemos pitch? Or motor?

Similar yes but the fan foil, pitch and blade count, stock is 6 blades wemo is 5, all differ. They're also not of the same materials so the copies start to deform sooner at higher rpms. Even closer Wemo copies just don't seem to get the same numbers, though some are close.

The Het motors 2W18 and 2W25 are tried and true motor well tuned for a Mini. so the combination of them and the counter rotating fans would be a good experiment but to match will likely need a motor with slightly higher KV to get the lower pitch to match the thrust. This will however use up more amps trying to match in my estimation.
