Hi gents

I’m highly considering one of these.......it’d be my first thrust vectoring EDF.

Can anyone say if they’ve tried this with the FMS 70mm V2 fans? If so, what sort of run time did you get with a 5000?

Thx

It will, of course, be relative to HOW you fly it.
You should get from 3.0mins to 4.0mins range typically.

Very rough estimates:

The stock FMS 70mm V2 6S setups (2860-KV1850 inrunner) use 70A ESC's, while the current Freewing 12b fans (3048-2150KV outrunner) use 60A.

The FMS Yak-130 70mm weight is 1900g, the FMS F-18 70mm is 2100g. The FW Su-35 is 2600g - 1.37x and 1.24x, respectively.

Assuming similar wing-loading, I reckon the usual 3-4 minute range would translate to 4-5 minutes, assuming lower throttle for equivalent thrust. Since the Su-35 has less wing-loading, you could extend it more to close to 6 minutes with throttle management.

However, if the extra thrust tempts you to fly full-throttle for the entire flight, the flight would probabably last 2.5-3.5 minutes before low-voltage requires you to land.

I have the FMS V1 fans. I get around 3 -4 minutes depending on throttle use.

The V1 and V2 have the same motors. The fans have a different blade shape, apparently to improve the swoooosh factor, so I imagine the flight times would be similar.

Don't know aout those fans but most likely anything between 3 and 6 minutes.
6 minutes with throttle management of course.

Cool, thanks guys. I’m big on flying 50% throttle as much as I can (as long as there’s adequate lift).

Looks like I might have a decent project in my near future.

Thx again

Question. I own the LX SU-47 and the thrust vectoring system on that is pretty crappy. I was wanting to replace it with the TV system used on this plane, but I can't seem to find any spare parts of JUST the TV setup from the SU-35. Is there anyone here who has a crashed plane and is/was going to discard the fuselage? If so, I'd love to buy the TV setup from you. Please shoot me a PM and I'll gladly pay for the shipping and packaging costs.

I appreciate the help.

I might have a complete set including the outer ball shells for the F-18 90mm - would that work? If you can give the diameter you need I can compare.

It'll probably be close enough. I'll get some measurements and shoot them over to you. Thanks for the help.

Fred, heres some photos showing the size of the SU 47 nozzles. The inside (plastic) part is 2.75" dia. The foam (outer) nozzle is just a tad bigger.
