Yes- post more... more... more... who wah hahahahahaha! I've got one in the bones and will finish it for this winter. I want to do a polished scheme (glass with Flite Metal-heavy or Monokote-lightweight) but haven't figured how I'll do the bead rolled wing stiffened areas. Cheers!

New 1/4 scale Swift cowls...

Hey Guys,
Just thought I'd give you all an update on the new 1/4 scale GC-1B Swift cowls.
New plug was completed, new master molds made, and new cowls are being made
Lay-ups have been slow, but they're coming along.

Just received my engine cowl from Erik. I'm speechless. I have several Fiberglass Specialties cowls, pants, and other parts, but Erik's effort blows them away!

Regarding the struts being pumped up in the pictures shown above, it is common among the Swift owners to lift the wings from underneath while parked to extend the struts and take a little load off the springs (Adel gear is spring/oil).

Also, the Swift gear is very similar to P-51 gear except that the scissor links on the Swift are on the inboard side of the gear, whereas on the P-51 the links are on the aft side of the gear.

check out the Swift website at www.saginawwings.com for lots of pictures and info.

Hey Guys,
I just received my plans and cowl from Erik and I will be drawing up a laser file. If anyone is interested in a short kit let me know at b_vogel@fuse.net.

I sent emails out in ref. to the short kits. If I missed anyone please get with me at b_vogel@fuse.net we should be cutting them in a couple of weeks and I would like to get a reasonably firm number on how many need to be cut. We're also going to offer the gear as shown on the plans, so as soon as my machinist buddy can get back with me I'll have a number on them.
Thanks,
Barry
