Sorry about the lack of video. I have been so busy that the jet work is pushed off to the midnight hour, well that doesn't leave much time for video. I have trimmed the new mold and it is ready for making parts. Now onto the next mold.

Finally I was able to make a little progress. A piece of plexiglass was carved out for the parting plane for the ailerons and nose trim pieces. They were then glued in with caulk and will be trimmed up after it dries.

I even snuck in a little time on the stab parting plane. It is a little more complex because the tail will be one piece.

It does make the molds a little tricky, hopefully it will keep the parts count down so I can make jets easier.

I had a nice chat with a fellow flyer yesterday who works extensively with mold materials and got some more insight into ways of doing things. All fuel for the fire when I get into my own project.

I guess this is another newbie Q, but why is the main surface dull and the aileon surface so silky smooth? Are you sanding it?

Yes, the main surface is sanded flat down to 600 grit. The aileron surface is shiny from the plastic piece with PVA on it.

One half of the mold is finished. I pressed the plugs pieces back in with caulk and will clean up the excess when it dries. Then two layers of PVA and it will be ready to mold.

A ton of progress and dust was made today. I got going on the parting plane for the fuse. It has a lot of angles but is going together well.
