Most of the filling is done. I just finished brushing on primer to the filled areas. The filler is a little porous so the primer smooths it over. I will offer a few kits some day, first things first and that is one for ME!

Dan~ Looking fantastic!

Quick question- If you are to kit these, what would you expect the price point to be?

Answer- A LOT!!!!
The problem with these little jets is everything that goes into them is super expensive and there is a lot of time involved. The materials are all of top quality to make them fly well and you end up with a museum quality jet that flies pretty well. Until I can get the labor way down they will always be in the $400-$600 range.

Finally all of the filling is done and I put one coat of primer on it. After it dries well I will get to see the final product.

I started to build the parting plane for the vertical tail. It has two coats of PVA and is about ready to mold. The fuse is just hangin around drying. The detail is amazing, I spend extra time making sure that the panel lines were all cleaned out so it comes out well defined.

Man---That's gonna be a masterpiece!!!...PLEASE do not skip any details when making your molds...I would really like to try this in the near future but all of the articles I've read leave me with more unanswered questions...Again, NICE!!!

The PVA dried overnight and was ready for some mold action. I mixed up some tooling gel and poured it on, now I just wait for it to gel and then add fiberglass.

Thanks, each mold keeps getting better. A few layers of fiberglass were added and now it is time to let it cure and then trim it up.

What's that blue sheet and it's function, Dan?

It is just painters tape to protect the clamps on the side of the mold. The clamps are just holding everything flat until the epoxy cures.

THE FIRST F-4 MOLD! Here is the first F-4 mold after a little trimming. All it needs now is a little more touch up and some wax and then I will mold the other side. It turned out perfect, all of the detail came through with no voids. I made this one with a box structure to keep it rigid for my final design incorporating the resin infusion.
