Scale Helicopter`s

I have a question for all you modelers out there. If you could get a helicopter kit for your model in true 1/96 scale, what would you want to get?

I have placed a list of Helicopters that in a perfect world could get. Some you can, some you can not. But if you could... What would want

Sh 60 Sea hawk
CH 53 Sea Stallion
NH 90 NH Industries
MQ8 Fire scout
H 92 Super hawk
H 2 Sea sprite
SH 3 Sea king
CH 46 Sea Knight
H 65 Dauphine

These would be in 1/96th scale.
Please let us know what you would like to see .
Thanks Paul and Eric

For me it is the following:

C-2C Greyhound
E-2C/D Hawkeye
EA-6B Prowler
A-1 Skyraider
MH-53E Super Seastallion
V-22 Osprey
S-3 Viking
S-2E Tracker
E-1B
F-18 C Hornet
F-18 E Hornet
F-18 F Hornet
F-35
Super Sea Cobra
F-8 Crusaider
A-7 Corsair
BAE Hawk T-1
RA5 Vigilante

These would help me greatly in building and finishing of my carriers in 1/96 scale. I am working on the CVN 75 USS Harry S. Truman and will be building LHD 8 USS Makin Island and then an Essex class carrier with angled flight deck.

I guess you and Lee had better get busy. You know you aren't going to get that lucky, with such low demand items. Since your average modeler thinks 4', is a big model. Maybe they will do, one or two, that we can also use on modern workboats? CB

At least i got it that your selling or considering selling these for scale ships...Ill take a couple SH-2's for an OHP 7. I'll take 6 each, CH-46, UH-1D, and AH-1 for an Iwo Jima project. A couple CH-47 as well. Thanks.

PS...If you really feel ambitious...a dozen each of TBD, SBD, and F4F's....would be nice for a CV-6 i have in the works, but these will need to be in 1/144 scale....the rest in 1/96!!

PSS...Merry Christmas!!!

That's a fairly modern list of helos, considering that the US Army & US Navy had the USCG do most of the helo training & development during WWII.

Sikorsky HH-3F Pelican or CH-3E Jolly Green Giant
Sikorsky HH-52 Seaguard
Bell HTL-1/4//5/7 (H-13) Model 47G (M*A*S*H chopper)
Sikorsky HO2S/HO3S
Sikorsky HO4S (H-19)
Sikorsky HUS-1 (H-64) Seahorse/Seabat
Bell AH-1 Sea Cobra

OhioMike,
We are going for the 1-96th as this point.
The SH-2 should be out some time in the next couple of months.

Some older chopper kits were available in 1/100th scale and in 1/87th. Glenco has an H-19/S-55 in a scale closer to 1/96th than 1/72nd. It's an old ITC kit. Rocco (?) had several choppers in HO (1/87TH) if you can find them.

If you are going to do an SH-60 kit I would make sure to put the different noses and wings that come on them (SH-B, F, J) all have different noses for FLIR sensors, and weapons mounts.

Fooman,
We are going to stick with the basic SH-60, but those could be made in the future.
Any more ideas?
Please feel free to post more questions.
This will help us to produce semi kits for the hobby.

Wondering

About an angled deck being part of any Essex class carrier.I was not aware any of them had an angled deck arrangement.Possibly the modified Oriskany, the carrier that Senator John Mccain, flew off of,prior to being shot down,,,,and landing in a lake...

Is this some sort of anomaly,or hybrid carrier,,,,or your own invention?
