Hey F5, do you think you'll have it airborne before mid may?

I was going to do some testing with fairly low wing load large jets and flight times for EDFs around that time.

This seems to be 50% bigger than a good sized Skymaster F15 but almost 20% lighter.

I'm thinking when wing load goes down top speed and flight times go up....would love to prove that theory.

Would make a good case to start making really large birds out of high compressed EPO if the stuff is what they claim it to be

TIA for any input

Mid May sounds about right for flying it. I understand light wing loading would make for a less angle of attack in flight for a little exrtra speed. I would guess ducting, airframe type, and a host of other stuff plays a big roll in it also.

It looks amazing Andy, can't wait to see video. For giggles I calculated the power required for steady level flight on your falcon with a few assumptions, like CD0 and e. It looks about right, especially given the fact that you will have a lot of inlet drag that I can't account for. 6kW for 204 mph. In reality you will probably need to more than double that number to get that velocity.

Will have to weigh it Rodger, I should be able to get a pretty close estimate now on the final weight. Cool power calc Scats, thanks
