what size pack are you using wingman? also, any way you can post a close up pic of your main gear door arm that attaches to the leg? i got some ball cup ends, i just want to get a idea of the geometry involved.
LoL yep I went through the same thing, just when I think I had the final weight a pound shows up out of now where saying hey don't forget about me and my younger brother 1/2 pound, we want to ride along too. Then their cousins 2 pounds along with their younger son 1/4 pound give you the puppy dog eyes and they want to ride too. Next thing you know you got yourself a good o'l family reunion.

I use two 2000mah nimh batts to power everything.

On the gear door I glassed in the little piece the ball attaches to the door as the door ripped off in flight one time when I lowered the gear. I now employ landing gear extention speeds like the big boys. Now I don't dump the gear until I am way slowed down. Thats a big plank of a door and the wind will catch it.

I'm not too surprised about the weight, I'm working on a 1/5 F-5 and my target is 44-45lbs RTF, with two SM110mm fans to power it, plan is 13-14kW total input power. So these much larger planes should be very nice to fly at the same weight, as long as they have enough power that is.
